RECEIVER ADJUSTMENT

1  SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT:
   (1) Mode AM,  Frequency 28.000MHz,  Frequency Figure 100KHz
   i   Connect the signal generator to the antenna receptacle and set the
       output of the SG to 90 dB. Adjust L5 for maximum reading on the
       signal meter so that AGC will beome best.
   ii  Set the output of the SG to 10dB. Adjust L1, L2, L3, L4, L5 for
       maximum reading on the signal meter.
   iii Adjust the RIT to obtain maximum reading on the signal meter and then
       adjust L1, L2, L3, L4 again for maximum reading.
   iv  Set the output of the SG to 60dB and set the signal meter to 9 by
       adjusting VR28.

   (2) Mode FM,  Frequency 28.000
       For adjustment on FM, connect the SG to antenna receptacle and set
       the output to 20dB. Adjust L6 for maximum signal meter reading.

   (3) Mode SSB and CW 
       No special adjustments are necessary.


2  ADJUSTMENT OF FREQUENCY RANGE (26.000 - 29.999 MHz)
       Rotate L1 clockwise so that the good S/N of 29.999MHz can be obtained.
       Good S/N of 26.000MHz can be obtained by rotating L1 anti-clockwise.


3  ADJUSTMENT OF SCANNING STOP SENSITIVITY
   i   Set the output of the SG to 20dB on 28.000 MHz
   ii  Adjust VR1 so that the scanning stops with 25-35 dB.
   iii Rotate VR30 so that its resistance beomes greatest. Start scanning
       around +/- 30 KHz of 28.000 MHz. Once the busy channel of 28.000MHz
       has been locked onto by the radio it will not start scanning again
       even if you rotate the frequency selector knob upwards. Now keep on
       rotating the knob upwards and simultaneously return to rotate VR30 to
       the point carefully where it just starts scanning.
